【摘要】:Mercaptansareodoroussubstancesoffensiveatlowconcentrationsandtoxicathigherlevels.Theyareemittedfromgeothermalsources,industrialprocesses,andfoodprocessingfacilities.1.1Thistestmethodcoversmeasurementoftheconcentrationofmercaptans(organicthiols)intheatmosphereatconcentrationsbelow100partsperbillion(ppb(v)=195956;g/m3).Forconcentrationsabove100ppb(v)level,thesamplingperiodcanbereducedortheliquidvolumeincreasedeitherbeforeorafteraspirating.Theminimumdetectableamountofmethylmercaptanis0.04956;g/mL(1)inafinalliquidvolumeof25mL.Whensamplingairatthemaximumrecommendedrateof2L/minfor2h,theminimumdetectablemercaptanconcentrationis1.0ppb(v)(1.95956;gmethylmercaptan/m3at101.3kPa(760mmHg)and25176;C).Thistestmethoddeterminestotalmercaptansanddoesnotdifferentiateamongindividualmercaptans,althoughitismostsensitivetothelowermolecularweightalkanethiols.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificprecautionarystatementsaregivenin8.7,8.8,andSection9.
